THE WORDS THAT HURT (OR HEAL)

There are phrases that cut deeper than any blow.
And silences that hurt more than any argument.


Has it ever happened to you?

This post is an invitation to look at how we use our words—with more love, and more awareness.


Because what we say (or what we hold back) holds incredible power: it can open the heart… or close it forever.

 

Why do we speak from the Ego?

So often, it’s not that we don’t know what to say.
It’s that we don’t dare to show it. The ego usually speaks first.

It’s hard to admit mistakes, express what we truly feel, or simply ask for help. We think showing need, discomfort, or insecurity makes us weak.


And the ego, when it feels exposed, would rather attack, defend, or go silent.

It’s hard to say “I love you,” “I was wrong,” “I need you here,” because we fear those words make us vulnerable.


And when the ego feels threatened, it defends itself.

It would rather be right than be at peace.


Rather win than connect.
Rather hurt than be vulnerable.

Without meaning to, we turn a conversation into a battle.


And what could have been a moment of connection… becomes a quiet war. Word by word, we start drifting apart—even from those we love the most.

Words are living energy.

Every word carries vibration.
When you speak from anger, from your wounds, or from pride, that energy stays. In you. In the other. In the space between.

And the same is true when you speak from love.

A single phrase can shift the direction of a conversation.


It can soothe, unite, and heal.

That’s why it’s so important to pause before you reply, take a breath, and ask yourself:


Where am I speaking from right now? From ego, or from the heart?

 

Silence speaks, too.

Sometimes we say nothing at all—but that’s still a message. And not always a healthy one.

We stay quiet to avoid conflict, to avoid being misunderstood, to avoid being seen.


But that silence builds up.
And often, what we don’t say ends up hurting more than words spoken poorly.

What if you gave yourself permission to be vulnerable?

What if you let go of the fear of being judged, and simply said what you really need to say?

What if you started speaking from a place that’s more present, more real, more you?

 

It’s not about always being right.
It’s about being at peace.
It’s about speaking to build—not to dominate.

Words heal when they come from the soul. And you have that power. You just need to listen to yourself before you speak.

And remember—sometimes, the bravest thing isn’t speaking loudly… It’s speaking from the heart.

 

Next time you feel the urge to respond automatically, pause for a second.
Breathe.


And ask yourself:
Will these words connect me or separate me?
Is it my ego speaking… or the most loving part of me?

You’re not alone in this.
We all struggle.
But once you see it… you can start to change it.
